Seanisms
Sean is our family best kept comedic secret.... we have started to keep track of what we are calling Seanisms... Here is a new one (though I have some old ones I'll post later):
Me: Sean did you eat that ham I put in your lunch
Sean: What's ham again?
Me: It's lunch meat... like turkey but ham.. where bacon comes from
Sean: Oh I guess I shouldn't have thrown that out....
Me: What? Why did you do that?
Sean: I thought it was dirty turkey and I wasn't going to eat it.
Me: Sigh...
Yep... dirty turkey = ham

First Day of School
The boys go to different schools because Sean is in a special program.... It's bittersweet on days like the first day of school because it feels like Sean is all alone while Evan has all these people he knows plus his sister. I'm sure it's just me making too much of it since he looks fine and happy on the first day of school.

Right Dog at the Right Time
So we got a puppy.... yep a puppy! A lot of friends and family said the
same thing to us about the dog as they did about us having kids: I
didn't think you guys were ever going to! His name is Carlos (don't
judge the name - the kids picked it out) and he's a 9 week old sack of
boxer sugar!

The Boys are 8!!!! Eight is great!
We celebrated with a pizza dinner and a movie (the Secret Life of Pets). We've had a lot of hot weather which means a lot of swimming! We celebrated Aunt Sharon's birthday too!

Camping at Devil's Lake WI
This year for our annual camp trip to Devil's Lake Steve rented a pop up so we could see how we like it. It was a lot of fun and different for sure. It had air conditioning so I can't really complaining about "glamping" it for the week. Since it was the week of the boys' birthday, we hit Noah's Ark in the Dells and that was a blast (and exhausting!).

Cub Scout Day Camp
The boys enjoyed Cub Scout Day Camp again this year... while our council did not make it easy, we enjoyed it all the same. An adult or parent was required everyday unless you had a pack rep (which we did not since the pack was going the week we were camping), I had a great team of family and friends who chaperoned the boys for us. It was a hot week but everybody held up pretty good. The boys got to do archery, BB guns, sling shots, water rockets, obstacle courses, pedal cars, camp cooking and other stuff. It's good for them and they are exhausted by the end of the week!

Overnight Camp
The boys went to their first overnight camp this year! It was a mini camp so it was only 3 nights and 4 days. Evan was pretty happy but Sean asked us to never leave him again.... Poor thing! I think it was good for him but he would most likely disagree.

Bears! Oh My!
Evan and Sean crossed over to Bear Cub Scouts this weekend. Our pack does a camp out for the cross over. The boys raced boats in a "raingutter regata" and Sean did really well. He was pretty pleased with himself though you could not tell it from the videos I took. In addition the boat races, there was field games, tug of war, hiking and running around in the rain (it rains every year during this campout). I took a lot of pictures and videos but here are my boys as BEARS! Go Bears!

Seanism
Last night on the way home from scouts we were listening to music. When
we get home Evan jumps out of the car and runs into the house. Sean
just sits in his seat thinking he said. I wait a few moments and start
to get out of the car when he says, Mom I have a question. I say okay.
He says "I can lick my lips but how do you swing your hips?".....
Sigh....

We take on the Capitol for Spring Break... Is there gonna be roller coasters?
Steve and decided to pile in the car and drive to Washington DC for
spring break. Once we told the kids, the boys wanted to know if we could go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg - we told them it was closed but secretly if the weather was good, we were going to surprise them with it! It was quite the trip. We drove to Pittsburgh and spent the
night before rolling into our Nation's capitol. We spent three action
packed days in DC checking out the Air & Space Museum, the National
Natural History Museum, the US Capitol where we met our congressman, the
National Zoo and as many monuments as we could see. Then we drove to
Virginia and spent one very lovely weather day at Busch Gardens
Williamsburg. We spent our last day at Jamestown seeing both the
historic site and the living museum where the kids could go back in time
to that era. They we stopped on the way home for a visit with our
friend who lives near Cincinnati (perfect resting spot before the last
six hours home). I think the boys liked Busch Gardens the best!

Ah... #MeatlessMonday... when Sean saw that veggie stew was on his plate with his quesadilla tonight he exclaimed "Mom I'm a meatatarian not a vegetarian!"..... though he did eat a potato to make me happy
